NicoTest™ Sample Collection Instructions

If any item of the kit is missing or damaged, do not continue with the procedure and please telephone 0870 060 6006


1. Wash hands thoroughly in warm water and dry	2. Choose side of finger or thumb and wipe with swab. Allow to dry.

3. Twist off cover of lancet	4. Place lancet against skin and press plunger quickly and firmly to puncture. Be brave!

5. Massage finger from base to tip to produce a large blob of blood	6. Touch one drop of blood onto the centre of each collection circle on the SAFEspot card.

7. Open the SAFEspot card into a tent-like configuration and allow to dry for one hour.	8. Fold the card to cover the blood collection circles.

9. Place the SAFEspot card into the pre-paid envelope with the desiccant and post.

Intended Use: The collection, transport and storage of blood for subsequent extraction of DNA.

Instructions for use should be read carefully before using the SAFEspot Blood Collection Kit.
Do not touch the framed area (containing the collection circles) on the SAFEspot card .
Should only be used by an adult or under adult supervision.
Each SAFEspot Blood Collection Kit is intended for single use only.
Please use the kit in a safe and clean environment (for example the bathroom), and away from any distractions.
Keep out of reach of children.
